Life is getting a little too real.

Someone I consider an older brother is getting married today and I’m still so shocked. The first thought that came to mind when I heard the news wasn’t congratulations, it was how he plans to fund their life together in Nigeria. That alone says a lot about where we are right now.
It’s a little sad that this isn’t the version of our 20s we once dreamed of. At 18, I genuinely believed I’d have it all figured out by 23. Finish uni, go to law school, land my big girl job and just be rich rich😂. Simple as that.
But now, even the happy moments come with a side of anxiety. Because in Nigeria today, joy is a luxury you have to be able to afford.

Sending Money Abroad from Nigeria Without Sacrificing your Limbs to Exchange Rates

The official CBN rate exists on paper. What your bank charges you is something else entirely. I've paid as much as ₦1,800 to a dollar when the parallel rate was ₦1,550. That's not a fee. That's theft disguised as a service.

After months of trial and error, I think you can safely rely on these two options

Grey (grey.co) Grey gives you a UK or US account number — a real one. You can receive dollars, pounds, or euros, then withdraw in naira at rates that are usually close to the parallel market. For paying international subscriptions, this is my first stop. The card works on Spotify, Netflix, AWS, you name it and you pay once for the card fee.

My second choice is Cleva. I think I've used Cleva more for its card features more than anything else. Amazing rate for conversion but the only drawback is, you have to drop $1 every time you want to convert money

The Nigerian fintech space is actually solving this problem faster than the government ever will. Use it.

I'm not really sure why we are so fixated on the current problems and not looking at the bigger issue.
Our society is FUNDAMENTALLY BROKE!!!

I want to hide under this 'cover' and share some of my thoughts on my devotionals. I think this platform is still growing, but if anyone sees this, please like if you think you'll like me to do so. Not sure how to build followership or anything.
PS, most of what I'm saying are very unconventional so, this fits ❤️

I hate my job but I’m not looking for another one

I hate my job. There. I said it.
But here’s the thing nobody tells you, hating your job doesn’t automatically make you brave enough to leave it. Because what if the next one is worse? What if the problem isn’t the job at all? What if the problem is me..this version of me that has somehow forgotten how to want things?
I used to wake up excited. Not about anything specific, just about the day. About being alive. I don’t remember the last morning I woke up and felt it.
Now I just wake up. Shower. Show up. Repeat.
And the scariest part isn’t the job I hate or the job I’m too scared to find. It’s that I feel nothing. Not sad, not happy, not angry, not hopeful. Just… nothing. Like someone turned the volume down on my entire life and forgot to turn it back up.
I’m writing this because I don’t have answers. I just miss myself. The old version , the one who hadn’t yet learned to be so careful with hope.
Maybe she’s still in here somewhere.
